Watercolor – “Princess Alexandra of Kent Roses”

Check out this fun beginner watercolor class!    A sketch of the flowers is already done for you.  No drawing skills are required so you can get right to the painting.   You will learn several watercolor techniques,  such as wet on wet with drips and blooms, using a wax crayon to create highlights, and wet on dry to create translucent layers within the painting and you will get to practice them before you paint your actual picture.

We will also talk about different types of composition and what the art terms “Naturalistic, Stylized, and Abstract” all mean. We will talk about the color wheel and how to mix each color we will need for this painting. You will be painting your floral masterpiece 8×10 paper and will leave with a beautiful finished watercolor… ready to frame.

The instructor, Amanda Moyer, has a MFA from the Savannah College of Art & Design and has been an architectural watercolorist in Huntsville for 10 years.  She will guide you through every step and she makes it a fun class for all!

All art supplies are provided.  Prepayment is required to reserve your space.

We have coffee and water available.  Feel free to bring any other beverages you like.

Get your friends and enjoy a fun evening out!
